Introduction: 2000 The German Iris ''Fiery Temper', Iris germanica, has rosy purple standards with deep wine red, almost black falls. Highlighted by the bright tangerine beard. Also known as "Bearded Iris", it is outstanding for its unusual color, design, and sturdy, vigorous growth habit. It is a hardy, disease and drought-resistant plant. Height: Bloom Color: Bloom Time: Awards : Long blooming in late spring and early summer, with handsome green sword-like foliage, 'Fiery Temper' enjoys full or part sun and well-drained soil. Plant about 15-18 inches apart. Bright tangerine beards embody the spirit of this new wine-red bit-one. The rosy dahlia purple of the standards balances the deep wine red of the falls. Rumbling ruffles add rhythmic energy.
